A devotional guide for teens on the hockey field, their coaches, and the parents who cheer them on.
Being a sports mom isn’t just about cheering from the sidelines – it’s about guiding our children through the emotional highs and lows that come with the game. As my boys fell in love with hockey, I saw an opportunity to connect what they love with what they believe. This inspiring pocket guide uses 21 familiar hockey terms to open conversations about faith, character, resilience, and identity in Christ.
A wonderful pocket-size resource for teams to keep handy, and to study and grow together.
Each section includes:
• A hockey term
• A faith reflection
• A life application
• A prayer prompt
• A Bible verse
Enjoy working through this as a team!
It also includes wise letters of advice to parents, coaches and the players themselves, as well as ten powerful faith lessons from the hockey field.

I really love that you wrote The Spirit Behind the Stick for Kyle and Luca, that alone makes it incredibly special. You can truly feel the heart behind it, using field hockey to speak about faith, character, and resilience in such a meaningful way.
For me, it reads as a devotional meant to be taken one reflection at a time. I tend to enjoy a more continuous flow when I read, but I can definitely see how this format would work beautifully for players and supporters looking for short, focused encouragement during the season.
This booklet is so inspiring. As a sport mom of teenagers I look at sports and my teenagers differently. I see the spiritual aspect to it. I use this booklet to guide and inspire my young sport stars…Greatly written👌
Wonderfully written, by the author that are both passionate about religion and sports. A wonderful guide for young stars teaching them the importance of balance.
Very inspirational even for a grown up. Good insight of balancing sport in a Christian way. Very motivating for the future sports champions to know that you can persevere and progress in life without losing your faith and identity. Such convenient size book as you can carry it with you daily...
I recommend this book to anyone that wants to live closer to God and teach their children the right path to follow (in the game and off the field)
The writting was descriptive and I really connected with the author.
